There’s something really special about being invited back to your alma mater—especially when it’s to photograph a group of guys who not only share your school, but your fraternity. This session with six graduating members of Phi Kappa Tau at Muskingum University was more than just another set of portraits. It was personal, nostalgic, and the perfect way to celebrate the end of a chapter.

We started at Montgomery Hall—the place where every Muskie’s story begins. As the admissions building, it holds a quiet symbolism that felt right for this session: one last stop before they officially cross the stage and begin their next journey. The campus was buzzing with other grads grabbing their own final moments, but we found our rhythm quickly.

With six seniors and limited time, things could have gotten hectic. But these guys made it easy. Each brought their own energy, style, and a willingness to try whatever I suggested. They trusted me behind the lens, and it paid off with authentic smiles, a few proud poses, and some truly timeless portraits.

This shoot also gave me the chance to break in my newest lens, which came with a bit of a learning curve—but was absolutely worth it. Some of my favorite portraits I’ve ever taken came from this sessiou can seen. The lighting, the weather, the camaraderie—everything aligned just right.

One standout moment? Seth’s photos. A hard-working student who made President’s List nearly every semester, his cords told the story of his academic journey. He wore them with pride, and it showed in every frame.

Though we focused on portraits in this post, we also captured some great group shots and creative prompts—those are coming soon, so stay tuned!
